About this group

The North American Society for Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy exists to promote the spread of scientific knowledge, advancing the understanding of laser plasma spectroscopy in North America and around the world. We support conferences, forums, and other educational activities to connect scientists and inform the public of the results and implications of current research in LIBS. NASLIBS is a nonprofit corporation.

Spectroscopic Evidence for Atmospheric Stabilization of Aluminum Borohydride in Polydimethylsiloxane Grease

Premkumar Sivasubramanian, Rana Mohtadi, Ragaiy Zidan, Kutty Pariyadath, Chad L. Leverette, Monty L. Fetterolf
Raman and infrared vibrational spectroscopy were used to confirm the presence of aluminum borohydride dissolved in a commercial polydimethylsiloxane vacuum grease at room temperature. Spectroscopic evidence for an adduct between the aluminum borohydride and polydimethylsiloxane is also presented. ... [Appl. Spectrosc. 66, 591-594 (2012)]

Quality and Statistical Classification of Brazilian Vegetable Oils Using Mid-Infrared and Raman Spectroscopy

Pieter Samyn, Dieter Van Nieuwkerke, Gustaaf Schoukens, Leo Vonck, Dirk Stanssens, Henk Van Den Aabbeele
Palm oil, soy oil, sunflower oil, corn oil, castor oil, and rapeseed oil were analyzed with Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) and FT-Raman spectroscopy. The quality of different oils was evaluated and statistically classified by principal component analysis (PCA) and a partial least squares (PLS) ... [Appl. Spectrosc. 66, 552-565 (2012)]
